A proposal was submitted to NABARD, after following the non renewal of Agreement between DRNVJIRD and Bayer Crop Science, for the financial assistance to provide 6 months free residential training in Agriculture. Keeping the services offered and the experience of DRNVJIRD, NABARD has approved and sanctioned the financial assistance to DRNVJIRD and The Chairman of NABARD Dr. Ch. Govindarajulu handed over the sanction letter to Dr. D. N. Rao, President, Vignana Jyothi on the occasion of the “24th Convocation of Bayer – RVJ School of Agriculture” on 02.08.2021 on the Dais.

This Programme runs similar to Bayer - RVJ School of Agriculture, offering same features and similar training as provided earlier. Once the required number of applications were received, the applicants will be called to appear for written exam and interview and the members were selected. The students will be provided with impeccable knowledge in agriculture with latest technologies and innovations with hands on approach. The various skill in which trainees were exposed to enrich them are as below:

• Sri cultivation in paddy

• Soil testing

• Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) and balanced fertilizer application

• Production techniques of Vermi compost

• Identification, symptoms & nature of damage and integrated pest management (IPM) including stem application in cotton, root feeding technique in coconut

• Identification, symptoms of infection and Integrated Disease Management (IDM)

• Production techniques of Trichogramma & Trichoderma Viride and field application

• Construction & management of polyhouses and farming in polyhouses & shade nets

• Cold storage of fruits, vegetables and other perishable agricultural produce

• Drip irrigation & its maintenance

• Farm implements and their maintenance

• Study on Fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, botanicals and their need-based application

• Seed production in field & horticultural crops and hybrid seed production in Paddy.

• Seed drying, processing and storage

• Seed quality testing, legislation and seed certification

• Computer applications - basics

• Communication skills in English

In addition to these skills trainees are taken to exposure visit /educational tour to various institutes as below
